MIT License Agreement

NGIBS is open-source software distributed under the MIT License. By downloading, installing, or running the software, you agree to the conditions established herein.

TL;DR: You can do whatever you want with this software, including using it commercially. However, we are not responsible if it breaks, hallucinates, or causes your computer to catch fire.

1. Disclaimer of Warranty

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT.

In no event shall Jaiho Labs, the developers, or copyright holders be liable for any claim, damages, or other liability, whether in an action of contract, tort or otherwise, arising from, out of, or in connection with the software or the use or other dealings in the software.

Specifically regarding AI features: NGIBS relies on probabilistic Large Language Models. Jaiho Labs is not responsible for any AI hallucinations, inaccurate data, offensive outputs, or deleted files resulting from the use of this software.

2. Acceptable Use & Web Scraping

NGIBS includes agentic features ("Live Search" and "Deep Search") that automatically make HTTP requests to third-party domains (such as DuckDuckGo, Wikipedia, and other websites).

You are solely responsible for ensuring your use of these features adheres to the Terms of Service of the websites being scraped.
You agree not to use NGIBS to maliciously DDoS, spam, or overwhelm external APIs or websites.
Jaiho Labs does not proxy or proxy-mask your traffic. All requests originate from your local machine and your IP address.

3. AI Output Ownership

Because NGIBS runs locally on your hardware, Jaiho Labs claims absolutely no ownership, copyright, or rights to any reports, code, text, PDFs, or Markdown files generated by the software.

You own your inputs, you own your database, and you own the AI's outputs. You are free to use generated materials for commercial, academic, or personal purposes without attributing Jaiho Labs.

4. Third-Party Dependencies

NGIBS acts as an orchestrator for several third-party, open-source technologies. Your use of NGIBS is also subject to the licenses of these dependencies, including but not limited to:

Ollama: MIT License
Python & PyQt6: PSF License & GPL v3 / Commercial
LangChain & ChromaDB: MIT / Apache 2.0 Licenses
LLM Weights: Models downloaded via Ollama (e.g., Llama 3, Mistral) are subject to their creators' respective acceptable use policies and licenses (e.g., Meta's Llama 3 Community License).
